I've been looking at getting something along the lines of a ~2000 Sierra 4x4 and not wanting to drop more than $6000. Found this though, details are:
Fully equipped, 3.4L V6, 4x4, automatic, SR5, TRD Off-Road Package (Bilstein suspension, 16" alloy wheels, locking rear differential), ABS brakes, dual airbags, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, Alpine stereo, power windows/locks/mirrors, cruise control, intermittent wipers, white gauges, tilt wheel, rear jump seats, Huper Optik window tint, window rain deflectors, sliding rear window, hood wind deflector, bed liner, mud flaps, fender flares, tow hitch, Borla stainless cat-back exhaust
Has just 125000km (77000miles) on it and looks clean inside and out. I'll be selling my Mazda6S 5-door if I buy a truck, Mazzy is worth around $10k .
What's oppo think?

Whats wrong with it? Tacoma's hold their value VERY VERY well, so a cheap, relatively low mile TRD tacoma....suspect.

that's exactly what I was thinking, I sent the person an email

What's wrong with it? I just got done shopping for a used truck/suv about 6 months ago (got an '05 4Runner) and that seems way cheaper than everything I was looking at. A Tacoma like that would run around $12-15k based off everything I saw.

That's almost scary cheap. Usually a clean Taco with that that many miles goes for twice that. Grab it if you can at that price.
Bring a hammer when you go to test drive it, and give the frame a few whacks, to make sure it hasn't started rotting out. If not, you're good for another 300k + miles.

The guy/person is only 60km away, probably going to take a look at it tonight. And on the upside, I was cruising Trader seeing what I could list my Mazda for, seems like $11500 is midrange listing price for similar mileage-spec-year, so that's a bonus.

When I was looking for my first truck I found a Tacoma with 85k on the clock and it was 4wd trd v6 lifted all the extras for like fifty five hundred so I sent the seller an email and she was like " ohh it was my sons who died in an motorcycle accident and I just want to for get about it all and i have the title to the truck cause it was his first car and I bought it for him." So I was buying it until this " Hey Of you want the truck you have to buy via ebay transporter and you put the money via western union and you'll get the truck in a few days." right there I knew shit was odd, so I had a buddy email her acting interested in it and go the same emails, word for stinking word. Long story short it might be too good to be true.

i have been looking at tacomas for a bit too.. and i've never seen it that cheap. they hold value around 5-6k very well with double that mileage. very suspect. where is this truck??

Let me know what you find. If you don't buy it, I just might.

I emailed the person, just waiting to see what they say. If it sounds ok, I'll go see for myself tonight (AutoTrader says they are ~60km away). If it actually is good I'll getting a certified cheque tonight!

Not to be too pessimistic or anything, but that sounds like a scam to me. For whatever reason, $4500 (plus or minus a couple hundred bucks) is the go-to price for about 90% of the scam ads on my local Craigslist.

Something is wrong with it. Tacos from the mid 90s are listed for much more than that here. 2002 here for $10.5K http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4117008495…

Yeah for sure, if you get an address or a place to meet then I would say okay it's not that shady. haha be on your toes!!

What is wrong with it? A TRD 4x4 is worth double this guys asking price. I've been trying to sell my sisters truck for $10,000. If all is well with this truck it is a smoking deal. Just do a thorough PPI and get a history report of some kind (not that they are a bible of truth, just a source if something is majorly wrong). Maybe it was in a massive accident and holds a salvage title, or he really doesn't know what he has.

With those miles and that condition, closer to 3x that price.

Normally these pictures and descriptions would end up at multiple locations if it were a scam. Did a few reverse Google image searches and string searches. Didn't find any duplicate matches. Still looks very cheap to me. Something doesn't sit right with me on this.

Personally, I'd ask them who did the installs on the radio and exhaust. When it comes to the aftermarket, I always either want to see pics or receipts of the install.

Did you end up having a look at it? Just curious, not looking to swoop it out from under you.

No reply from the seller yet. Not holding my breath on this one.

I'm not surprised. If this was legit it might be one of very few things I'd give up my manual requirement for. Too bad.
